Benchmark Mineral Intelligence (BMI) identified 330 lithium mining projects as of December 2022, ranging from those that have been announced to those that are fully operating. Looking at the full supply projections of the 153 projects that were producing or had public, identified production estimates showed sufficient lithium supply for batteries to power electric vehicle (EV) sales to meet the EPA’s recent regulatory proposals for vehicles, as well as forecast EV sales demand for the rest of the world.
