About Us
Vision
A thriving democracy that achieves ambitious solutions to climate change
Mission
Ridgeline Center for Law and Policy develops the policy tools, defends the foundational legal principles, and safeguards the public institutions necessary to decarbonize the economy
Why Ridgeline?
A ridgeline is a continuous path along the horizon. It stretches toward the distance and is grounded in firm foundations, often connecting other peaks and mountains. This reflects the way we work: Ridgeline Center is part of a larger community building toward a brighter future. Our work involves navigating various legal, technical, and economic “valleys”—different disciplines and political changes. A ridgeline sits above these specific areas, providing an aspirational destination.
History
Our organization was founded in 2017 as the Center for Applied Environmental Law and Policy (CAELP) and rebranded as Ridgeline Center for Law and Policy in 2026.
